Joep van Bakel, from the Netherlands, is one of the most respected names in the SUP world, especially in long-distance and endurance racing. Known for his grit and technical skill, he came into the sport later than most but quickly made his mark through discipline and determination. Off the racecourse, he’s passionate about growing the sport and often trains with his sons, Mylo and Tije, who are rising talents themselves. Joep mixes SUP with wing foiling and downwinding, always pushing to learn and improve.
